Warmth of Home

The best memories of Thanksgiving at my house growing up all revolved around the warmth of our home. Our family kitchen was really perfect in my mind. Simple and white, with metal cabinets and dark wood floors, all accented with incredible lighting . The unpredictable red oriental rug took center stage in the center of the room and accented with beautiful art. It was the living room of my childhood. My mom is an amazing cook. She had complete control of the space no matter how many people we brought home. Everyone gathered and stood in that kitchen in our family home. Laughing, sharing stories and lending a helping hand. It was the warmest room in the house.
When asked to design and evaluate a kitchen space, I always try to ask all the right questions. It is so  important to determine how the family functions and how they will use the space.  Some clients like to bake others have said…I just might file in the oven. So whether you cook or not … just remember everyone always ends up in the kitchen.
