Weekend Retreat

Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend and officially the unofficial start to summer, whether you're by the sea...

in a boat...

on the shore...

at the cottage...

drinking your favorite tea...

Blueberry and Apple Green Tea
8 cups hot, freshly brewed green tea
3 cups blueberries
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup apple juice
6 cups cold water
green apple slices, for garnish

1. In a large bowl combine the hot green tea, blueberries, and sugar, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Use a potato masher or a muddler to crush the blueberries. Let the mixture steep for about 30 minutes.
2. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher, pressing down on the blueberries with a spoon to extract as much juice and pulp as possible. Stir in the apple juice and cold water, and serve over ice, garnished by floating the green apple slices on top or pressing them onto the rim of the glass.

or in the garden.
